Dr. Klaus Herkenroth has 30 years of experience advising on German and international tax law. He focuses on the taxation of derivatives and securitizations, complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, and business restructurings. Klaus has handled multibillion dollar financing transactions involving consumer goods, real estate, market research, and industrial filtration. He also has extensive experience in fund formation and the structuring of real estate investments.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, Klaus was head of the German tax department at an international law firm in Frankfurt for 15 years.

Klaus is a lecturer on tax at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen. He regularly publishes on current tax topics.
