Sweta Gabhawala is a dual-qualified attorney with experience in U.S. and Indian equity and debt capital markets transactions. She has experience representing issuers and underwriters in initial and secondary equity, high yield and investment-grade debt offerings, tender offers, going private transactions, and business combinations. She also regularly provides advice regarding corporate governance, SEC reporting, stock exchange rules, and communications with stockholders and the public markets.
The companies Sweta has recently represented include FTS International, Granite Construction, Cliffs Natural Resources, CSW Industrials, International Wire Group, Bridgestone Americas, Lodha Developers, Reliance Communications, Koch Industries, Viasystems, Citigroup Global Markets, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and BNP Parribas Securities.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2013, Sweta worked as a senior associate in the Mumbai office of a major Indian law firm where she represented issuers, investors, and underwriters in Indian public and private securities offerings. She previously worked in Jones Day's Singapore Office, where she advised Indian issuers and underwriters on U.S. securities law.
Sweta is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Asian American Bar Association, and the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
