Sandra Feng joined our New Lawyers Group (NLG) in 2020. The NLG provides our newest lawyers with the opportunity to gain exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. Individuals in the NLG may focus on a particular area of practice, or compare practices, during their first year with Jones Day.
Sandra's practice includes representing pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on the procurement and protection of intellectual property. Sandra develops and manages U.S. and foreign patent portfolios for clients and coordinates strategies to meet clients' IP needs and business goals. She drafts and prosecutes patent applications in antibodies and other therapeutic proteins, therapeutic peptides, antibody drug conjugates, gene therapy, and diagnostic assays.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Sandra acquired substantial legal research and writing experience during her first federal externship with Judge James V. Selna and second federal externship with the Patent Pilot Program in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. During her Ph.D. training, Sandra worked on developing and optimizing engineered protein probes to visualize neuronal connections in living animals.
