Sumerya Dinç focuses on project realization in Africa and the Middle East, particularly in the utilities sector (energy, water, and transportation).

Sumerya regularly handles the development of contractual and financial arrangements in the context of multilateral negotiations. She assists governments and public entities with legislative and regulatory reforms, implementation of sectoral policies, and privatization of public enterprises. She works with project promoters and public entities in drafting and negotiating contracts, such as EPCs (engineering, procurement, and construction), O&Ms (operations and maintenance), and PPAs (power purchase agreements); advising on the bankability of projects at the project structuring stage; and handling negotiations between various project players.

Sumerya also advises private sector clients with implementing regulatory duties, in their relationships with public entities, and in mergers and acquisitions issues.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Sumerya was a member of the project finance, energy, and infrastructure team at a French law firm. She also has practiced at international law firms in London and in Istanbul.
