Susan Cox, a real estate lawyer for more than 20 years, counsels private equity, developer real estate, and corporate clients in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of real estate assets.
Representative transactions include: representation of Norfolk Southern Corporation in the construction financing of its corporate headquarters through a synthetic lease transaction; the due diligence, acquisition, and financing of Greystar Growth and Income Fund's $4.4 billion acquisition of Monogram Real Estate Investment Trust; financing of the Comerica Building in Dallas, Texas (the second largest office tower in Dallas); the acquisition and financing of hotel portfolios valued between $60 million and $350 million; acquisitions and dispositions of more than $2 billion in multifamily assets during the last year; Blackstone's $650 million refinancing of the Kensington Portfolio; and Morgan Stanley's financing of the $6.5 billion buyout of Crescent Real Estate Equities Company and the $525 million acquisition and financing of 11,000 homesites from Lennar Corp.
Susan is a member of the State Bars of Texas and Georgia, TREC (past secretary), and CREW Dallas. She serves on the host committee for the Camp Sweeney 5K and the Camp Sweeney Board. She is the past board president of Healing Hands Ministries and is a graduate of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce "Leadership Dallas" program. She has served as a panelist and speaker for Texas Bar programs and is an adjunct professor for the SMU School of Law, teaching the advanced commercial real estate seminar.
