James Cowie practices corporate law with a focus on private equity, including fund formations, primary investments, and secondary market transactions.
James has advised a number of sponsors on the structuring and formation of private investment funds. He works frequently with sponsors and investors on primary investments and secondary transactions. In addition to funds work, James has advised clients on a range of transactional matters, including acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures.
James has recently worked with DV4 Limited, CBRE Global Investment Partners, and Henley Investment Management Limited. Prior to rejoining Jones Day in 2021, James worked with a number of exploration and production companies on transactional matters on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS), including NEO Energy (where he was seconded for 15 months).
