Emilia Bonine's practice focuses on all aspects of European and Belgian competition law. Her experience includes merger control, anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominance, and state aid. She has been involved in several merger filings with the European Commission and the Belgian Competition Authority. Emilia has experience assisting clients in major global competition law compliance audits and investigations. In addition to her antitrust and competition law practice, she advises clients on complex regulatory matters, helping them navigate the EU environment. She is active in various sectors, including life sciences and health care, industrials, chemicals, transport, and the automotive industry.
Emilia also has experience advising clients on Belgian corporate law and assisting clients in mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Emilia completed her masters degree at the University of Antwerp, where she participated in an exchange program in Montréal, Canada. She defended her master thesis in the area of abuse of dominance and was a member of the University of Antwerp's competition law moot court team that competed at King's College London against top universities from around the world.
