Patrick Boyd represents major corporations, financial institutions, and individuals in high-stakes commercial disputes, consumer class actions, government and agency enforcement actions, and patent and other intellectual property disputes. He has represented clients in Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigations, patent and trademark infringement actions as both plaintiff and defendant, and class actions involving complex legal and regulatory frameworks. Patrick practices in federal and state courts throughout the United States.

Patrick's experience includes: defending a visa sponsor agency against a nationwide class action alleging state labor law violations, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) violations, and unfair and deceptive trade practices; a pharmaceutical company in a trade secret misappropriation case; a large technology company in a patent infringement action; a private equity fund in a trademark dispute; a high net worth individual in a complex, international real estate dispute; and multiple defendants against False Claims Act lawsuits. Patrick has also represented financial institutions in matters including: defending mortgage originators in individual and class actions cases alleging breach of contract and failure to adequately disclose mortgage terms and defending mortgage servicers in DOJ investigations concerning the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.

Patrick has a strong commitment to pro bono work and has represented individuals in immigration, housing, and other sensitive matters.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Patrick was an associate in the litigation group of two Boston law firms.
