Marco Basile focuses on significant legal questions in appeals, high-stakes motions, and complex dispute resolution. He also provides strategic advice to clients facing challenging legal issues.

Before joining Jones Day, Marco served as a law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge Paul J. Watford of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and Judge David J. Barron of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Marco was also a visiting fellow at New York University School of Law and holds a Ph.D. in legal history. His teaching and research has focused on international law, constitutional law, and the interpretation of treaties and statutes. He has additional experience working and studying in Spain, France, and Brazil.

While in law school, Marco participated in the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic and separately assisted with research for the merits briefing in a landmark case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
