Andrea Beathard focuses her practice on intellectual property, including patent and false advertising disputes before United States District Courts and the United States Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Andrea has experience drafting motions, pretrial disclosures, and other court filings. She also has experience with fact discovery materials and prelitigation strategy and is a regular contributor to Jones Day's PTAB Litigation Blog.
Andrea maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving as a guardian ad litem, helping a veteran obtain service-related benefits, and volunteering with the D.C. Bar's Free Legal Advice and Referral Clinic.
Before joining Jones Day, Andrea served as a judicial law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Prior to law school, Andrea worked as a design engineer at Fluor Corporation, an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and maintenance company.
