2022 Speaker Series: The Explainability of AI
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET
Please join Jones Day for an enlightening virtual discussion on artificial intelligence ("AI").
AI systems have the potential to provide a technology leap applicable to countless areas of daily life. From autonomous driving to employee hiring to the automation of repetitive and mundane tasks, the opportunities to improve the world via AI are almost endless.
But as it does with other disruptive technologies, the law is likely to struggle as it adapts to the extremely high rate of change accompanying AI applications. Makers of AI systems that interact with the public may be forced to have their artificial intelligence "show its work," explaining how the AI decisions are made and why. Such requirements could potentially require augmentation of the way AI models operate, with the risk of suboptimal results. Those requirements could also have downstream legal effects, including data security/privacy concerns and strategy considerations regarding the protection of intellectual property. In this webinar, our speakers will cover these and other timely issues and will explain how they may affect your business.
