Jones Day Professorship of Commercial Law Lecture 2021: The Legal Innovation Agenda - Pre-, During, and Post COVID
9:00 am - 10:50 am SGT
Jones Day and Singapore Management University's Centre for Commercial Law in Asia invite you to the Jones Day Professorship of Commercial Law Lecture for 2021, which will be presented virtually on Wednesday, November 17.
The past decade witnessed the rise of what might be called the legal innovation agenda. While robot lawyers dominated the headlines, it was a series of trends that coalesced in the 2010s, including legal tech such as legal AI, new business models and ecosystem players, legal process improvement, and the overall digitization of business. The 2020s opened with a global pandemic that has already disrupted many legacy behaviors and assumptions.
In this lecture, Professor Daniel Martin Katz of Chicago-Kent College of Law will discuss which trends will be accelerated by COVID and which will be jettisoned as we move out of the COVID era into the balance of the 2020s. Professor Katz will also join the panel discussion.
