CLE Program

Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and big data are driving the next generation of business intelligence and affecting virtually every industry, with applications reported daily in sectors as diverse as health care, autonomous and "smart" vehicles, robotics, data storage, consumer products, software, and national security.

With innovation and technology outpacing the law in these areas, consumers and organizations are facing new and complex questions about how this technology can and should be used, the associated legal risks, ethical considerations, and appropriate protective measures.

For example, recent and upcoming developments will impose export controls on U.S. companies that develop these technologies and may trigger mandatory Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) notification requirements if such companies seek to raise capital from outside the U.S. Meanwhile, U.S. intellectual property owners have been monitoring developments in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which recently sought public input on how patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, data, and other intellectual property rights may be impacted by AI.

In this presentation, our speakers will explore how AI, ML, and big data may impact you and your organization.
