Jones Day was excited to host the Opening Reception for the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys (LIWOCA) on March 28, 2019. LIWOCA President and Conference Chair Jamila Hall welcomed 250 attendees, including 13 Jones Day women of color lawyers.
Event Highlights Included:
- Pilar Ramos, North American General Counsel for Mastercard, shared her personal and professional journey as well as insight on diversifying the legal profession.
- Sandie Okoro, General Counsel of World Bank Group, was the keynote speaker at the Scholarship Luncheon, inspiring the room with her speech.
- A fireside chat was held with former United States Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch.
- LIWOCA awarded four scholarships to women of color law students, totaling $12,000.
