On November 2nd, Jones Day partners Sergio Alvarez-Mena and Kathy Keneally hosted a breakfast roundtable at our Miami Office for the Private Wealth Leaders’ Forum along with the Florida International Bankers’ Association (FIBA). The forum was by invitation-only and brought together the Latin American private wealth business heads of major U.S. and international financial institutions. Nineteen institutions and thirty-five participants attended the full capacity event.

The purpose of the forum was to provide the participants a no-press, closed door opportunity to discuss the issues facing their industry. Kathy Keneally kicked off the session by sharing her thoughts on the global tax transparency initiatives reshaping the industry and Sergio Alvarez-Mena, who is a Director of FIBA and Board Vice-Chairman, moderated the discussion on topics ranging from effectiveness of the recruiting Protocol to the need for locally tax efficient products in a post-transparency environment.
