OnStar defends patent infringement claims involving telematics technology

Jones Day defended OnStar, LLC in a patent infringement suit brought by Innovative Global Systems LLC accusing the OnStar system of infringing five patents relating to telematics. Telematics technology provides data communications between a vehicle and a remote computer. The case, which was filed in the Eastern District of Texas, was successfully transferred to the Eastern District of Michigan. The case settled shortly after the Court's claim construction hearing.
