Dr. Markus Kappenhagen ist als Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht spezialisiert auf die Beratung deutscher und ausländischer Unternehmen in allen Fragen des Arbeitsrechts. Schwerpunktmäßig befasst er sich mit der arbeitsrechtlichen Seite von komplexen Reorganisationen einschließlich der Verhandlung von Interessenausgleich und Sozialplan.

Er berät zu den arbeitsrechtlichen Aspekten bei Unternehmenskäufen und Betriebsübergängen, aber auch bei der Vertragsgestaltung und der Trennung von Führungskräften. Beispielhafte Mandate aus jüngerer Zeit: Magna: Beratung zu Mitbestimmungsthemen, Tarifrecht, Unternehmenskauf aus der Insolvenz; CapGemini: Verhandlung von Interessenausgleich und Sozialplan bei einer Abspaltung nach dem Umwandlungsgesetz; Kunststoffhersteller: Werksschließung (circa 300 Arbeitnehmer), Sozialplanverhandlungen, Streikrecht, Transfergesellschaft; und Deutscher Autohersteller: Beratung in tarifrechtlichen und betriebsverfassungsrechtlichen Fragen.

Dr. Markus Kappenhagen ist Mitglied der Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Fachanwälte für Arbeitsrecht im Deutschen Anwaltsverein und wurde wiederholt in dem Anwaltshandbuch JUVE empfohlen. Er schreibt an Kommentaren zum Arbeitsrecht mit (z. B. AGG, Kündigungsschutzgesetz) und hat zahlreiche Aufsätze und Urteilsbesprechungen veröffentlicht. Er tritt regelmäßig als Referent bei arbeitsrechtlichen Seminarveranstaltungen auf.
