Dr. Steve Chen's practice includes prosecution of U.S. and non-U.S. patent applications, due diligence analyses, patent interferences, and litigation support. Steve has extensive experience working in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnical arts. He has represented clients such as Celgene, Genentech, Pathwork Diagnostics, Roche, Rosetta Inpharmatics, and Trimeris on their patent portfolios. Steve has prosecuted patents involving a wide range of practical applications such as bioinformatics, structural biology, immunology, molecular biology, genetics, computer-implemented technology, diagnostics, medical devices, and chemistry.

Prior to his career in law, Steve worked as an investigator on structure-based drug design at a pharmaceutical company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While in graduate school, Steve co-designed and implemented the first online biomolecule binding database aiming at experimental data under the supervision of Dr. Michael Gilson. Steve has authored or coauthored eight scientific publications that have appeared in medical journals such as Bioinformatics, Cancer Research, Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening, Molecular Biotechnology, Nucleic Acids Sciences, and Oncogene. He also worked as a summer associate at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
