Bill O'Reilly defends clients against claims involving consumer protection laws as well as antitrust and other commercial disputes, with a substantial focus on complex class actions. These included successfully defending R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in multiple alleged price-fixing lawsuits, representing Bausch & Lomb as co-lead counsel in multidistrict litigation involving allegations of anticompetitive practices in the marketing of disposable contact lenses, and coordinating the defense of Bayer AG in numerous civil matters alleging price-fixing of several chemical products. He also has defended clients against claims arising from the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Bill served as chief counsel and staff director for the House Ethics Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2006 through August 2008. In that position, he managed the committee's investigative and oversight responsibilities and coordinated ethics education and training by committee staff. He also spoke at conferences and seminars on congressional ethics issues, including the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act. He is the author of "If Congress Calls, Know the Rules," (Legal Times, 2009), and he continues to advise clients in responding to congressional and related investigations.

Bill also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in asylum and other immigration cases as well as civil rights claims. He serves on the board of directors of the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs.
