Two Jones Day partners win 2015 "Outstanding Restructuring Lawyer" awards

December 2015

Gregory Gordon and Scott Greenberg, partners in Jones Day's Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice, were both selected among Turnarounds & Workouts magazine's "Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers – 2015." The recognition honors restructuring lawyers who are leaders in the industry. The honorees are selected by T&W’s editorial staff based upon individuals’ recent representations and nominations by other restructuring professionals.

The publication spotlighted Greg Gordon's representation of RadioShack as lead counsel in proceedings that maximized the value of the company's assets on an accelerated timeframe while preserving the iconic brand domestically. Mr. Gordon, a partner in the Firm's Dallas Office, was also recognized for his work with Specialty Products Holding Corp., Bondex International, Republic Powdered Metals, and NMBFil -- subsidiaries of RPM International -- where more than 15,000 asbestos injury lawsuits were resolved.

Scott Greenberg, a partner in the Firm's New York Office, was recognized for steering NII Holdings through a contentious restructuring in less than nine months and reducing liabilities by $4 billion, as well as for acting as lead counsel in American Apparel's chapter 11 case. Mr. Greenberg was also noted for his representation of various bondholders and funds in their exposure to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its public corporations and instrumentalities, and MF Global Holdings as plan administrator in implementing its liquidation plan.
