Tim Melton counsels a diverse range of corporations, financial institutions, and their boards of directors, focusing on corporate finance and corporate governance matters. He regularly advises public and private companies on matters relating to governance, securities regulations, financing strategies and alternatives, and stockholder activism. He also has significant experience representing financial institutions in connection with public and private financings and various restructuring scenarios.

Recently, he has worked closely with Atlas Energy, Convergint Technologies, Exide Technologies, FleetPride, FTD Group, MYR Group, Potash, Procter & Gamble, Sandler O'Neill, Spanx, USG, Verint, and Woodward.

Tim has been recognized in various publications as a leading corporate lawyer, including being selected as one of the top business lawyers in Illinois by Chambers, Best Lawyers, the "Leading Lawyers Network," Legal 500, Who's Who Legal, and Super Lawyers. Tim serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
