Tom Jerman advises employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law, including union organizing campaigns and representation proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations and arbitrations, individual and class action employment litigation, and advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws.

Tom's primary practice focus is the representation of airlines under the Railway Labor Act. His airline industry experience includes individual and class action employment litigation, representation proceedings and carrier interference cases before the National Mediation Board, federal court litigation with employees and unions under the RLA, system board of adjustment cases, collective bargaining negotiations, and advising carriers regarding mergers and acquisitions. He is a senior editor of The Railway Labor Act (BNA 2005), a former management co-chair of the ABA's Railway and Airline Labor Law Committee, and speaks and writes frequently on issues under the RLA.

Tom also has substantial experience in labor and benefit issues under the Bankruptcy Code, including retention as special labor counsel to debtors in some of the largest bankruptcies in the U.S. over last decade. He speaks frequently on the topic and has authored several law review articles on Sections 1113 and 1114 of the Bankruptcy Code and termination of defined benefit pension plans.

Tom is a Fellow of the American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
