Louise Rankin helps health care providers finance facilities through tax-exempt bonds. Since 1985 she has practiced full time as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, or borrower's counsel in health care, long-term care, and educational facility financings. She has extensive experience in multistate system bond deals for health care and long-term care providers, as well as numerous stand-alone hospitals, continuing care retirement communities, and nursing homes. She has developed structures and covenants now widely accepted in the health care financing industry. She has worked on deals for start-ups, on construction and acquisition projects, on refinancings, on FHA and other mortgage-backed deals, and has advised the parties in situations of covenant breach and workouts.
Louise serves as bond counsel to Alexian Brothers Health System, American Baptist Homes of the West, Covenant Retirement Communities, and Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. She also has represented Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Ziegler Capital Markets, among many others, as underwriter's counsel in health care and long-term care transactions.
Louise is a member of the State Bar of California, the Illinois State Bar, the American Health Lawyers Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and The Healthcare Roundtable for Chief Financial Officers.
