Scott Specht has more than 30 years of experience in the real property area, with emphasis on real estate secured lending and loan restructurings, corporate real estate services, and real property acquisitions and dispositions. Scott has represented a variety of lenders, including national banks, life insurance companies, and CMBS loan originators, in connection with complex loan originations and loan restructurings and workouts. His corporate real estate services practice consists primarily of handling the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and leasing of real property and includes the representation of companies in major build-to-suit and build-to-lease projects. Scott leads the Real Estate Practice in Jones Day's Atlanta Office.

Scott represents KeyBank National Association in connection with a syndicated loan restructuring and workouts involving a large construction loan facility secured by a mixed-use commercial project located in the Southeast United States. He recently completed a 160,000 square foot build-to-suit lease for Dendreon Corporation's biomedical manufacturing and laboratory facility in Atlanta, Georgia. Scott also has represented Basis Real Estate Capital, Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, MetLife, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, RFA Management, and Tivoli Properties.

Scott serves on the board of directors and Finance Committee of the Midtown Alliance, a community organization formed in 1978 to help transform the once deteriorated, under-valued Midtown Atlanta community into a model of urban revitalization. Scott also is a member of the board of directors of the Midtown Improvement District, a public improvement district created to offer enhanced safety, maintenance, and capital improvements in Midtown Atlanta.
