Real Estate Finance - Overview

Jones Day's Real Estate Finance Practice is part of the Firm's international real estate practice. The Real Estate Finance team provides services to lenders and borrowers in the full spectrum of real estate financing including acquisition, development and construction lending, permanent financing, commercial mortgage backed securities loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity, bridge equity loans, syndicated loans, bond financing (including industrial revenue and industrial development bonds), debt restructuring, convertible loans, credit facilities, synthetic leases and other off balance sheet financings, letters of credit and other credit enhancements.

Representative lending clients include U.S. and foreign banks, investment banks and insurance companies.

Representative borrower clients includes real estate investment funds, institutional advisors, pension funds, domestic and foreign investors, and private and public REITs, hospitality and real estate companies.

The Jones Day team’s expertise in diverse, multi-state transactions, as well as cross border transactions, provides invaluable guidance for lender and borrower clients in deal structuring and execution. The team also has considerable experience in loan workouts and the restructuring aspects of real property financing.  We approach each finance transaction as a unique opportunity to maximize the client’s success by combining comprehensive and multi-disciplinary services with sophisticated analysis.
