Phil Stamatakos has been the principal lawyer on more than 100 negotiated mergers and acquisitions, including many complex, multicountry acquisitions. He also provides advice on joint ventures, strategic alliances, reorganizations, and recapitalizations. In addition, Phil has advised several companies on corporate governance matters, including charter amendments, committee charters, takeover preparedness, shareholder rights plans, internal investigations, whistleblower claims and board education and orientation.

From 1985 to 1990, Phil worked in business development and contracts administration with defense contractor General Dynamics in the U.S. and Egypt. Since 1996, Phil has been an active member of the American Bar Association's Negotiated Acquisitions Committee, and has participated in its Public Company Task Force, which is drafting a model pro-buyer merger agreement with commentary, and its Asset Purchase Agreement Task Force, which drafted the ABA's best-selling model pro-buyer asset purchase agreement with commentary.

Phil is on the Advisory Board of DealLawyers.com and was co-chair of The Chicago Bar Association's Corporate Practice Committee. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of corporate and M&A matters.
