Philip Stamatakos has been the principal lawyer on more than 100 negotiated mergers and acquisitions, including many complex, multicountry acquisitions. He also provides advice on joint ventures, strategic alliances, reorganizations and recapitalizations. In addition, Philip has advised several companies on corporate governance matters, including charter amendments, committee charters, takeover preparedness, shareholder rights plans, internal investigations, whistleblower claims, and board education and orientation. Philip counsels several prominent U.S. companies on their non-U.S. operations and non-U.S. companies on their U.S. operations.

From 1985 to 1990, Philip worked in business development and contracts administration with defense contractor General Dynamics in the U.S. and Egypt. Since 1996, Philip has been an active member of the American Bar Association task forces that drafted a model pro-buyer public company merger agreement with commentary and the ABA's best-selling model pro-buyer asset purchase agreement with commentary.

Philip is on the advisory board of DealLawyers.com, is the former co-chair of The Chicago Bar Association's Corporate Practice Committee, and is a frequent speaker on a variety of corporate governance and M&A subjects.
