Partner Shay Dvoretzky named Rising Star by publisher Law360
March 2011
Washington partner Shay Dvoretzky has been named a Rising Star by publisher Law360 and earned a place among Law360's five appellate lawyers under 40 to watch. Dvoretzky, 36, argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court just months after being named a partner in January 2010. His skills arguing the case involving the scope of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act impressed both his Jones Day colleagues and his adversaries. Dvoretzky graduated from Yale Law School in 2000 and clerked for both the U.S. Court of Appeals for Fourth Circuit Judge Michael Luttig and for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Since arriving at Jones Day in 2002 as an associate, he has argued federal appeals cases before six different circuits and dispositive motions before numerous federal district courts.
