Nobu Yamanouchi has 30 years of experience advising companies, particularly in the automotive, electronic, and pharmaceutical industries, in cross-border M&A, joint ventures going private transactions, takeover defense, and other corporate matters. His practice also includes advice to non-Japanese multinational clients on strategic issues in litigation, IP, employment, and regulatory matters under Japanese law. He is Partner-in-Charge of the Firm's Tokyo Office.

Nobu has represented various Japanese companies in their cross-border acquisition programs, including: Honda Motor in its acquisition of a Formula One racing company and NTT Data in its acquisition of the consulting business of a French company. He also has advised non-Japanese companies, including Fresenius Medial Care, The Riverside Company, and SanDisk, in their investment activities in Japan.

Nobu is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association in Japan. He is a coauthor of "Understanding the Incidence of Litigation in Japan: A Structuring Analysis," published in The International Lawyer. He also wrote an article for The M&A Lawyer titled "Hostile Takeover Attempt and Poison Pills in a Japanese Way: Livedoor vs. Fuji TV over Nippon Broadcasting."
