Jones Day leads the league in M&A

In league tables published this month, Jones Day ranked #1 for number of deals worldwide, a position it has held for 20 consecutive quarters.
Jones Day led all law firms in both of Thomson Financial’s league tables based on number of deals completed in the first nine months of 2005, with 380 transactions worldwide (135 more than the second place firm), and 179 completed deals with U.S. targets.
In the Bloomberg league tables, which are based on announced transactions, Jones Day maintained its #1 rankings for number of deals worldwide and for number of deals in the U.S. It also ranked #1 for number of deals in Europe.
The Firm has maintained the #1 worldwide ranking in both the Thomson and Bloomberg tables every quarter since year end 2000.
Mergerstat, which runs league tables based only on announced deals involving U.S. companies, ranked Jones Day #1 for number of deals. The Firm has held that position in the Mergerstat rankings for 10 successive quarters.
