Tomo Suzuki has a broad range of experience in real estate transactions, representing major Japanese real estate companies as well as foreign companies and funds involved in real estate transactions in Japan. His experience covers a wide range of real estate properties from office, commercial, and residential buildings to shopping centers, hotels, and factories. He also advises clients on various aspects of the real estate business, including complicated developments and joint ventures.

As head of the Real Estate Practice in the Tokyo Office, Tomo leads a team of lawyers working on, among other real estate projects, securitization/liquidation of real estate assets for foreign real estate investment funds utilizing Japanese tax-efficient investment schemes, such as TMK and TK.

Throughout his 30 years in practice, he has provided counsel on corporate and regulatory matters, including M&A, joint ventures, and licensing and distribution contracts, representing foreign corporations doing business in Japan and Japanese domestic corporations dealing with foreign entities. He also has considerable experience in international litigation and arbitration.

Tomo has been lecturing at Keio Law School on international transaction, lawyers' ethics, and advanced civil law since 2005. In addition, he was a lecturer at Keio University, Law Faculty from 1991 to 1998, teaching civil code (general theory and real estate).
