Mike Sennett's practice is focused on antitrust law with an emphasis on the antitrust aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures; antitrust litigation; civil investigatory matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and state attorneys general; and criminal antitrust and grand jury proceedings. He counsels extensively on the antitrust aspects of intellectual property and technology licensing; strategic alliances and research and development collaborations; pricing and price discrimination; distribution; advertising and marketing practices; Hatch-Waxman strategies; and patent-antitrust and related matters. In addition to his practice as an antitrust advisor, Mike handles a broad range of complex antitrust cases and has appeared in courts throughout the United States, including before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, before national and international arbitration panels and forums, and in administrative antitrust enforcement actions.

Mike serves as antitrust counsel to a number of multinational companies, businesses, consortia, investment banking firms, and trade associations operating domestically and globally. Industries include pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies, medical devices, pharmaceutical benefit services, steel, automotive, construction, farm equipment, consumer products, mining, water and wastewater technologies, health care services, transportation, financial services, communications, product distribution, plumbing products, retail goods, and general services. Representative corporate clients have included Alberto-Culver Company, Baxter International, Boehringer Ingelheim Corporation, Cardinal Health, CVS Caremark Corporation, Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, and Fortune Brands.

Mike has been named a leading antitrust lawyer in Euromoney Institutional Investor's Guide to the World's Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers, Law Business Research's International Who's Who Legal, and Chamber's America's Leading Business Lawyers. He also is named a leading U.S. antitrust attorney in the Guide to Leading American Attorneys, The Best Lawyers in America, Leading Lawyers Guide, and Illinois Super Lawyers.

Mike is on the adjunct law faculty at Loyola University Chicago where he teaches antitrust law and international antitrust courses. He is a member of the board of advisors of the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Law Studies and the Midwest Antitrust Colloquium. He has written extensively on antitrust and international competition law matters for academic and trade journals and delivered addresses on antitrust law matters in conferences and forums in the U.S. and abroad. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Antitrust Law, International Law, and Litigation Committees), The Chicago Bar Association (Antitrust Law [chair, 1996-1997] and International Law Committees), the International Bar Association (Competition Law Committee), and the Lawyers Club of Chicago.

Mike serves on the boards of trustees of the Children's Home & Aid Society of Illinois and the Children's Home & Aid Foundation. He also serves as counsel to the Water Quality Association, the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute, the Water Partnership Council, and the Water Design-Build Council.
