Matt O'Meara concentrates his practice in debt financing transactions with a particular focus on leveraged acquisitions, senior and mezzanine financing transactions, structured investments, and private equity matters.

Matt has extensive experience advising asset managers, banks, financial institutions, funds, institutional investors, and issuers in structuring, negotiating, and documenting senior, middle market, mezzanine, and private equity investments. Prior to joining Jones Day he handled numerous workouts and restructurings and represented many diversified financial institutions, including Bank of America, BNY Mezzanine Partners, Freeport Financial, JPMorgan Chase Bank, LBC Credit Partners, Madison Capital Funding, Merit Capital Partners, The Northern Trust Company, ORIX Finance, PNC Bank, Toronto Dominion Bank, and William Blair Mezzanine Capital Partners. In addition, he has extensive experience advising borrowers and private equity groups in senior and mezzanine financing transactions, including Arbor Investments, CIVC Partners, Hilco Equity, Industrial Opportunity Partners, Olympus Partners, Prairie Capital, Stepan Company, and Wind Point Partners.

Matt serves on the Primary Market Committee of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association. He has spoken and written extensively on the global loan market and intercreditor issues.
