Mark Sisitsky has an extensive practice in the structured finance and derivatives securities areas. His recent focus has been on restructuring existing financings, and he has represented investment banks, issuers, and trustees in those restructurings. In addition, Mark represents investment banks, multinational corporations, hedge funds, and other end-users of structured products in analyzing their structured finance investments and associated counterparty risk. He also represents several major money market funds in connection with their investments in municipal securities structured products. Mark co-chairs Jones Day's Banking & Finance Practice.

Most recently, Mark has participated in an extremely complex cross-border restructuring of a credit default swap transaction that closed only after months of negotiation, the development of a new "repack" program, the review and analysis of a portfolio of credit default swaps for a global financial services firm, and the representation of various parties in the restructuring of collateralized debt obligations and collateralized loan obligations.

Companies for which Mark has worked on substantial matters include Bank of America, Citibank, J.P. Morgan Chase Securities, and Morgan Stanley & Co.

Mark is recognized in the 2009 edition of the Legal 500 US as a leading lawyer in structured finance: derivatives and structured products.
