Laurie Charrington receives National Association of Women Lawyers' Outstanding Member Award

Laurie Charrington, an associate in the
Silicon Valley Office of Jones Day, was presented with the National Association of Women Lawyers' Virginia Mueller Outstanding Member Award at NAWL's 2011 Annual Awards Luncheon. The event took place on July 21 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
The award is the highest honor bestowed by NAWL, a national voluntary legal professional organization devoted to promoting the interests and progress of women lawyers and women's legal rights. Charrington was recognized for her contributions toward increasing NAWL's activities in Northern California, including co-chairing the first-ever "NAWL Bay Area Night of Giving" charity event last year in Palo Alto.
Ms. Charrington's practice focuses on
intellectual property litigation. She has litigated copyright, patent, trade secret, false marking, unfair competition, and general commercial matters. She has represented clients in diverse high-tech industries, including computer software, consumer electronics, e-commerce, semiconductors, and video components. She also counsels clients and conducts IP compliance and risk assessments. Ms. Charrington is a founding member of the Diversity Committee in Jones Day's Silicon Valley Office and a planning committee member of the office's Women in IP Program, which she has chaired twice.
