Kenji Funahashi represents corporations, strategic investors, venture capital funds, and private equity funds engaged in business operations and investments throughout the world. He has handled more than $8 billion in financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and IPOs, including more than 38 financings and M&A transactions in the past two years. His practice covers a wide range of corporate finance matters, from early stage startup companies obtaining angel financing to multibillion dollar transactions for multinational and Fortune 500 companies. Kenji's industry focus covers software, IT, social networking and analytics, life sciences and medical devices, and renewable energy, sustainability, and clean technology.

Kenji has lived and worked in Tokyo as an attorney and was a Fund for International Education Scholar at Osaka University School of Law. He also has served as: chair of the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce's Economic Development Committee and Cleantech Subcommittee; president, chair, and board member of the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana; co-chair of the Judicial Endorsements Committee and board member of the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego; board member of the Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC); pro bono counsel to a number of nonprofit entities and recipient of the State Bar of California Wiley Manuel Pro Bono Award in 2004 and 2005; and a volunteer for Outdoor Outreach and the San Diego Penn/Wharton alumni association.
