Kevin Boyce's practice focuses on product liability and complex litigation. He has particular experience in aerospace litigation as well as handling both internal investigations and investigations conducted by the FAA and NTSB. He also represents clients in connection with government investigations arising under the Consumer Product Safety Act and the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. He has obtained favorable verdicts in significant high-risk cases and served as lead counsel for clients in state and federal courts around the country.
Currently, Kevin serves as lead counsel for R.J. Reynolds in several of the Engle progeny cases in Florida. In addition to coordinating the defense in hundreds of the progeny cases, he is one of the attorneys to have secured outright defense verdicts in these cases. Last year, Kevin defended a multimillion dollar case in Ft. Lauderdale that resulted in an unanimous defense verdict, a result that followed more than 10 defeats for tobacco defendants in that court.
Kevin's other representations include Parker Hannifin, Goodrich, Mattel, and Harsco in connection with a variety of business litigation and strategic planning matters. Recently, Kevin helped Parker Hannifin and Goodrich reach favorable resolutions of complex commercial contract issues, assisted Mattel reach a satisfactory resolution with a consortium of state attorneys general, and assisted Harsco in connection with a dispute over a business transaction. In the past, he secured a defense verdict for Nextel Communications in an action brought by affiliates of Sprint Corporation and helped defend complex food safety matters involving allegations of e-coli infection.
