Dr. Patrick Elsevier focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly patent infringement litigation with an emphasis on cases involving biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Patrick's cases have involved complex technologies in the areas of vaccine and therapeutic biologics, animal health products, transgenic technologies, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. He is experienced in all facets of intellectual property litigation and has litigated disputes in courts throughout the United States and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also advises biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and animal health clients on patent strategy, patent validity and freedom-to-operate issues, and intellectual property-related agreements.

Patrick has been both an author and co-editor of the Federal Circuit Annual Review (Aspen Publishers). He is a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), BIOCOM, the Federal Bar Association, and the Intellectual Property Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. Patrick is also a barrister of the J. Clifford Wallace Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
