July 13, 2005

Los Angeles –  The Los Angeles office of Jones Day, one of the largest law firms in the world, has relocated its nearly 300 employees to the City National Tower at 555 S. Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Jones Day is occupying more than 160,000 square feet on six floors (Floors 45-50) in the building, which was formerly known as Arco Plaza. The international law firm signed a 15-year lease with Thomas Properties Group, a national real estate development company and the owners of the City National Plaza complex, which has undergone a complete renovation.

Jones Day’s Los Angeles office had been located in the Gas Company Tower since 1991.

"This relocation was necessary in order to accommodate the steady growth of our Los Angeles office over the past several years," said Rick McKnight, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Los Angeles office. "We were attracted to City National Plaza because we believe the building location and design of our office space meet the very high standards our clients insist upon. We are in stunningly beautiful space in the heart of a vibrant downtown environment, which is central to L.A.’s diverse international business community."

Jones Day’s Los Angeles office, which opened in 1973, is one of five that the firm operates in California. The others are located in Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco and Menlo Park.

Jones Day is an international law firm with 30 offices in centers of business and finance throughout the world. With more than 2,200 lawyers, including more than 400 in Europe and 175 in Asia, it ranks among the world’s largest law firms.
