Jones Day tops M&A league tables for 38th quarter in a row

In league tables published this month, Jones Day ranked #1 for number of deals worldwide, a position it has held for 38 consecutive quarters.
Jones Day led all law firms in Thomson Reuters' league tables based on number of deals completed in the first quarter of 2010, with 95 deals worldwide and 64 deals with US targets.
In Bloomberg's M&A rankings for the first quarter, which are based on number of announced deals, Jones Day ranked #1 in four and in the top ten in 16 of the 21 total. The Firm received credit for 91 deals worldwide and 63 deals with any U.S. involvement.
Jones Day has held the #1 ranking for number of deals worldwide in both the Thomson and Bloomberg league tables every quarter since year-end 2000.
The Firm also ranked #1 by deal count in Mergerstat's results for the first quarter of 2010, which are based only on announced deals involving U.S. companies. Jones Day has maintained this Mergerstat ranking for 28 successive quarters.
