Jones Day named to top 20 "Global Elite" for antitrust and competition law
February 2010
Jones Day has been ranked among the "Global Elite" of the world's top 20 firms for antitrust and competition law by publisher Global Competition Review (GCR).
Now in its 10th year, the annual "GCR 100" guide ranks the world's leading competition law practices. The 20 firms listed in the "Global Elite" are considered the strongest of those practices, based on size, the number of nominees to The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers, practice stability, and votes from other firms. Jones Day has been included in the GCR 100 every year since its inception in 1999, and in the Global Elite since its inception in 2007.
Jones Day was singled out for significant antitrust practice developments in the past year, including the high-profile hires of partners David Wales and Michael Knight in Washington, Craig Waldman in Northern California, and Frances Murphy in London. "While the US is clearly still [Jones Day's] major jurisdiction, its strong team in Brussels means it is more than capable of handling major European work. And with [Frances] Murphy in London, a German team that is increasing in prominence and a solid practice in the far east, it looks set to further improve its global offering in the coming years," stated the GCR analysis.
Compiled by the staff of Global Competition Review, the GCR 100 provides an extensive qualitative analysis of the world’s antitrust marketplace. More information is available on
