Jones Day again named in antitrust and competition law "Global Elite" by Global Competition Review

January 2011

Publisher Global Competition Review (GCR) has again included Jones Day in its "Global Elite" ranking of the world's top 20 firms for antitrust and competition law.

Now in its 11th year, the annual "GCR 100" guide ranks the world's leading competition law practices. The 20 firms listed in the Global Elite are considered the strongest of those practices, based on size, practice stability, votes from other firms, and the number of nominees to The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers. Jones Day has been included in the GCR 100 every year since its inception in 1999 and in the Global Elite since its inception in 2007.

In its analysis, GCR noted that Jones Day’s solid position in the Global Elite is the result of “the leadership of Phillip Proger and the impressive performance of the firm’s top-rate antitrust team.” The publication also highlighted several of the Firm’s antitrust successes, including its representations of American Needle before the U.S. Supreme Court, MasterCard before the European Commission and national authorities, and American Airlines in its global effort to retain a multiyear joint business agreement with JAL.

Compiled by the staff of Global Competition Review, the GCR 100 provides an extensive qualitative analysis of the world’s antitrust marketplace. More information is available on the GCR 100 web site (subscription required).
