Jaime Choi's practice focuses on patent law, with a particular emphasis on patenting highly complex and interdisciplinary technologies ranging from bioinformatics to medical devices to nanotechnology. She has been representing clients before the USPTO since obtaining her Ph.D. from MIT in 2005 and has successfully prosecuted hundreds of patent applications.

Jaime's clients include major defense contractors, leading pharmaceutical companies, cutting-edge biotechnology and green technology companies, and medical device manufacturers. Her technical background makes her particularly effective in matters involving complex materials processing, algorithms at the interface between computers and biology or chemistry, optics and spectroscopy, telecommunications, design patents, and the manipulation of matter with acoustics or light. In addition to patent portfolio management and prosecution, Jaime performs due diligence investigations; analyzes patent validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate; and assists with complex licensing issues and patent and trade secret litigation and arbitration.

In her previous career as a scientist, Jaime studied complex materials using ultrafast laser spectroscopy at MIT and self-assembling biomimetic materials at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She is coauthor of several published journal articles and is a co-inventor on an issued patent (U.S. 7,387,027 to Choi, et al.).
