Jimmy Tabb represents companies, officers, and directors in a wide array of complex litigation, including consumer, wage & hour, and securities class actions, insurance recovery actions, professional negligence claims, business tort claims, lease disputes, license disputes, and general contract disputes.
Jimmy's recent successes include a favorable settlement in a license dispute on behalf of a San Diego-based pharmaceutical/diagnostics company, dismissal of a fraud/RICO action seeking to unwind a securities fraud class action settlement, favorable settlements on behalf of an officer in a series of securities fraud actions (state and federal) and a related D&O coverage action, and a favorable settlement in a multimillion dollar hedge fund fraud case.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Jimmy also handled a variety of environmental matters (and related insurance coverage matters), including assisting in the resolution of decades-old litigation arising out of the Stringfellow Hazardous Waste Site.
Jimmy devotes considerable time to charitable work. He assisted an Ethiopian refugee obtain political asylum and a Honduran refugee obtain Special Immigrant Juvenile status. In furtherance of his asylum work, he helped found and chairs the Casa Cornelia Law Center Inn of Court. He also serves as vice chair of STAR/PAL, which works with law enforcement and community partners to provide free services to more than 10,000 underserved youth in San Diego.
Jimmy also works to promote diversity as a member of the South Asian Bar Association and a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
