BDO USA, LLP and Jones Day invite you to join us for an Accounting and Tax Update focusing on Illinois unclaimed property law changes and their notable impact on Illinois companies. This event will highlight timely law changes surrounding elimination of business-to-business exemptions, five year retroactive transitional rules, 10 year record retention and statute of limitation provisions, and extrapolation penalty among many other changes. In addition, the session will include a discussion of the interplay between Illinois and Delaware law and a double pay scenario it may create for many Illinois companies. Finally, we will discuss legal issues, preserving privilege for audit defense, and best practices relating to unclaimed property compliance and the new Illinois law.

Speakers will include:
  • Michael J. Wynne, partner, Jones Day
  • Jennifer C. Waryjas, associate, Jones Day
