Government Contracts Investigations

Jones Day Corporate Criminal Investigation lawyers have for many years represented government contractors in the most complex criminal and civil investigations and cases, involving defective pricing, CAS questions, product quality and testing, "revolving door" and gratuities issues, and handling of procurement-sensitive information.

United States military actions around the globe and an expanding homeland security program have resulted in significant scrutiny of government hardware and service providers. The United States Department of Justice, the Inspectors General in fifty-seven departments of the federal government, and private litigants pursuing fraud claims under the False Claims Act, are very active and often aggressive in pursuing perceived fraud by government suppliers.

In addition to representing government contractors in criminal and civil investigations, Jones Day also regularly conducts internal investigations in connection with clients’ voluntary disclosure and compliance reviews. When handling such cases, our CCI lawyers work closely with experienced lawyers from our Government Regulation practice.
