Ford advises clients facing financial risk from derivative instruments about their options in the event of insurer insolvency. He has represented and prosecuted insurers in a variety of matters and has advised regulators and receivers regarding insurance insolvencies and restructurings. He has litigation experience in all levels of state and federal courts around the country.

Ford served as counsel to the liquidator of Ambassador Insurance Company in litigation against the company's former management and auditors, which resulted in a jury verdict of $119.9 million. Most recently, Ford served as regulatory litigation counsel for Financial Guaranty Insurance Company in a restructuring that resulted in substantial capital enhancement through an innovative reinsurance transaction.

He also regularly represents clients in commercial and bankruptcy litigation and has served as nationwide product liability defense counsel for a building products manufacturer.

Admitted to the bar in both Ohio and Georgia, Ford is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Columbus Bar Association. He serves on the board of trustees, and is secretary/treasurer, of the Columbus Bar Foundation. He has served on the boards of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Council for Ethics in Economics, and Experience Columbus.

He is the leader of Jones Day's Insurance Liability & Recovery Practice.
