Ford Huffman is Partner-in-Charge in Columbus. He practices in the area of general litigation and has extensive experience in insurance regulation and practice, product liability, and bankruptcy litigation. He has served as counsel to the liquidator of Ambassador Insurance Company in receivership matters and in litigation against the company's former management and auditors. He has represented a variety of clients as creditors in insurance insolvency proceedings, including Allstate, Acordia, and National City Bank, and has advised the Ohio Department of Insurance regarding potential regulatory responses to insurer financial instability.
Ford served as lead litigation counsel to the court-appointed trustee for Cardinal Industries, Inc., whose $2 billion chapter 11 case involved complex, first impression issues of bankruptcy and partnership law affecting tens of thousands of investors and secured lenders, and served as chapter 11 litigation counsel to Fruehauf, Williams Communications Group, Fretter, and Loewen.
Ford also regularly represents Firm clients in commercial and employment litigation and has coordinated nationwide product liability defense for two Firm clients in the building industry.
Ford is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and Ohio Super Lawyers. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association.
