Fernando de Ovando has more than 30 years of experience in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, strategic alliances, reorganizations, and general corporate counseling. His practice also encompasses a solid background in banking and finance transactions, most of which have focused on cross-border and complex transactions. Fernando advises well-known Mexican and international entities in diverse segments of economic activity. He also has been active in several shareholder disputes, takeovers, and securities law counseling matters.
Fernando has served as either secretary or member of the board for a number of public and privately held corporations such as Ixe Grupo Financiero and Banco Compartamos, among many others. Fernando is Partner-in-Charge of the Mexico City Office.
Fernando has authored numerous articles in several legal publications. He is a member of the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana de Abogados) and a foreign associate of the American Bar Association.
