Jones Day’s Todd Johnson among 2012 CLAY award winners honored by California Lawyer
February 2012
California Lawyer magazine has named Jones Day partner R. Todd Johnson of the Firm's Silicon Valley Office as one of the winners of the 16th annual California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year Awards. The awards recognize 26 accomplishments in 20 areas of legal practice, honoring lawyers throughout the state whose achievements had a significant impact in 2011. Mr. Johnson was honored as one of three lawyers in California who worked to engineer the passage of SB 201, a bill that created "Flexible Purpose Corporations," making possible in California the creation of triple-bottom line businesses or social enterprises -- those that focus on people, the planet, and profitability -- rather than the previous requirement that they consider only profits and shareholder returns. Mr. Johnson, who leads the Firm's Energy Practice and its Renewable Energy and Sustainability group, co-chaired the working group that drafted SB 201. He will be featured alongside other recipients of the CLAY Awards in the March 2012 issue of
California Lawyer.
