Emmanuel Ubiñas has more than 15 years of experience in investigations and litigation. He has worked on matters involving bribery, bid rigging, procurement fraud, money laundering, self-dealing, accounting fraud, enforcement of foreign judgments, class actions, and cross-border contract and toxic tort litigation. A native Spanish speaker, he has led dozens of Latin America-related investigations and conducted more than 500 Spanish-language witness interviews for matters connected to Latin America, including in Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Chile. Global Investigations Review recently recognized Emmanuel's investigations work in their "40 under 40" list of the world's leading investigators.

Beyond his investigation and litigation experience, Emmanuel's recent engagements also include counseling companies on: internal controls, data privacy, and implementing and enhancing compliance programs; FCPA transactional due diligence; compliance-related clauses in acquisition, joint venture, EPC, and subcontractor contracts; and post-closing adjustments, earn-outs, breach of representations and warranties, and indemnification claims. He has significant industry knowledge gained from his work in the areas of oil and gas, construction, industrial services, engineering, real estate, telecommunications, agriculture, technology, e-commerce, travel, retail, financial, automotive, manufacturing, transportation, aviation, and distribution.

Emmanuel is a frequent speaker on internal investigations, compliance programs, and the FCPA. He also maintains an active pro bono practice taking a leading role in the Firm's representation of hundreds of Latin American immigrant women and children in asylum cases largely stemming from domestic abuse or political persecution, including appearing before immigration officers and Immigration Court.
